Hello Everyone,
I want to spark a discussion on the ethics of buying in-game currency from third-party providers like U4GM, especially in the context of Dune Awakening.
Arguments For It
Many players don’t have time to grind — buying currency saves time and lets them enjoy more content.
Cheaper than many in-game options or bundles in certain regions.
Sometimes official store prices are inflated due to regional pricing, taxes, or lack of sales; third-party sellers can level the playing field.
Arguments Against It
May violate the game’s Terms of Service, risking account bans or removal of in-game assets.
Could contribute to unbalanced gameplay, especially in PVP — those who buy can gain unfair advantage.
Might hurt the game’s revenue, affecting developers and the future of updates / support.
Some sellers might be shady; even if they deliver, they might use questionable methods or encourage unsafe account practices.
My View
While I see the appeal — having instant Solari, better gear, more fun — I lean toward being cautious. Supporting developers through official channels helps ensure the game stays in good shape. But I also understand players want better value and faster progression.
Would be great to hear your thoughts:
Should developers allow authorized resellers at fair rates so players don't need to risk going to third-party sellers?
Do you consider buying Solari from U4GM ‘cheating’ or just a convenience?
If you were a dev, how would you balance making revenue while discouraging risky third-party purchases?
Looking forward to debate!
